A Cultural Trip to Vienna
For the students in the German-language groups of the pre-DP 2 class, the trip to Vienna was more than just an ordinary school trip—they returned from their stay in the Austrian capital with a wealth of memories, experiences, and new language skills.
During the week in March, they admired the wonders of Viennese architecture and marveled at the works of art in the Albertina and Leopold museums. They also visited the Baroque Belvedere Palace, the Museum of Art History (Kunsthistorisches Museum), and St. Stephen’s Cathedral (Stephansdom). They felt the spirit of Vienna’s history not only in Schönbrunn Palace or the Hofburg, but above all in the Catholic churches—built during the Counter-Reformation—that radiate grandeur, splendor, and uniqueness. A visit to the Butterfly House (Schmetterlinghaus) and fun at the Prater amusement park provided an opportunity for a pleasant time and team-building. The students broadened their horizons of knowledge about the surrounding world during a visit to the Natural History Museum (Naturhistorisches Museum), which houses numerous artifacts reflecting the history of the Earth.
One day, the group briefly found themselves back on Polish soil. The host of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Vienna—Ambassador Zenon Kosiniak-Kamysz—personally showed them the embassy’s beautiful headquarters and spoke about the unique nature of diplomatic work.
At the language school, students learned the secrets of the German language and the socio-historical aspects of regions associated with German culture.
The weather initially treated the trip participants to spring sunshine, only to send everyone off with rain and strong winds. However, the capricious weather front failed to dampen the travelers’ curiosity and enthusiasm.
The teachers—Dorota Grzywacz and Arkadiusz Wąsiel—did an excellent job of organizing the trip and fostering a pleasant atmosphere within the group.
Everyone returned from Vienna feeling more connected, transformed, full of new ideas, and inspired to pursue personal growth.
Vielen Dank und bis bald in Wien!
