For the Drzewo Życia Foundation
On 21 February and 2 April in Solec, as well as on 7 April in Nowowiejska, students sold handmade cakes. The proceeds from the cake sales will be donated to the Drzewo Życia Foundation, which helps people struggling with eating disorders. The entire event was held as part of the Zwolnieni z Teorii programme, prepared by Tosia, Jagoda, Tosia, Michalina and Pola – students of 2nd SLO Jasienica High School with international branches. The organisers would like to thank all those who got involved in the campaign.
EDucating is a social campaign aimed at making both young people and adults aware of the topicality of eating disorders and their consequences. In an era dominated by the exorbitant beauty standards that are detrimental to adolescent development and the rise of social media, students seek to confront the deluge of information on ED (eating disorder) and create a platform with valuable factual content. By organising the Bake Sale, more than PLN 1,000 has been raised so far.
In addition, in the coming days, The Warsaw High School Times will feature the first students’ interview on the platform – a student’s conversation with psychologist Marta Kunicka about the myths associated with eating disorders, and in the near future also a conversation about self-acceptance with Miri Palak – an educator representing the SEXED Foundation. You are very welcome to read both interviews.
