Offline, Inbetween Rain and Sun

The May cruise of the second grade students has just ended. The young sailors embarked in teams on several boats and sailed from Giżycko via Sztynort to Nowy Harsz on Lake Dargin under the guidance of Tomasz Jarnicki. The weather, with temperatures above ten degrees Celsius, was fine. The principle of rotating crews fostered conversations and getting to know each other, and the appetite for sailing increased with doing it – some even struggled against the wind in the afternoons sometimes in the sun and sometimes in the rain. While preparing meals together, some learned how to make scrambled eggs, boil pasta ( throw the noodles into boiling rather than cold water) or chop champignons. Almost all of them delighted in the taste of  pickled cucumbers, which they passionately snacked on while preparing food for the barbecue. In their time off from sailing, the students participated in activities prepared by the teachers. Mateusz Pencuła led TOK classes, Piotr Morawiecki combined physics classes with sailing theory, Irina Kavtsevich infected the sailors with her love of biology, and Marta Wierzbicka-Kotte danced the Belgian danced with them in the morning. There were also other sports activities organised by Juliusz Szymański.
