At the Europejskie Centrum Solidarności
On April 10, students co-creating the school’s Historical Club, together with their supervisor Wojciech Milej, organized a one-day trip to the Europejskie Centrum Solidarności in Gdańsk. School history enthusiasts had the opportunity to carefully view the permanent exhibition. This exhibition is devoted to the history of the Independent Self-Governing Trade Union “Solidarity” (NSZZ “Solidarność, 1980), which was the center of social resistance to the communist authorities during the times of the Polish People’s Republic (PRL, 1944-1989). The content-rich exhibition presents a modern approach to history and museology, which students of Dwójka could see thanks to original exhibits and interactive teaching aids. After viewing the exhibition, they went to the observation deck, from where they admired the panorama of the city and – most importantly – the buildings of the Shipyard. Then they visited the Old Town and ate at an iconic place on the Coast’s gastronomic map, namely the famous Tourist Bar. While still on their way back home, the students started planning their next one-day escapades, in which everyone is invited to participate. Join the expeditions of the Historical Club!
