At Peace with Oneself
On October 27, there was a meeting with Renata Lis, author of the book entitled “My Beloved and Me.” In an interview with Olga Masiuk, Renata Lis talked about her thirty-year experience of being in a relationship with a person of the same sex: about going through difficulties related to the lack of legal regulations for such relationships and about emancipation to live in harmony with oneself. The writer concluded that it does not matter what word we use to describe ourselves, and that in her opinion she does not fit into any conceptual box, although she admitted that as young people we need to define our identity and that she prefers to live in the world of named things. When asked about the model of a friendly school, she pointed out the need to create a school where no one will feel stigmatized. She also emphasized that her book is a voice for social acceptance of a good life for each of us, and for the possibility of sharing a private story by every person.
