Basketmania and the Charity Campaign Throw Money In

As part of the holiday week at 2SLO, on Thursday, December 19, the second edition of the sports and charity event titled Basketmania took place. Teams from almost every class of 2 SLO entered the basketball tournament. During the sports competition, there were many situations that evoked strong emotional reactions, but the competition took place in an atmosphere of mutual respect. The tournament podium is as follows:

· The first place: class 3R (Jan, Michał, Mateusz)

· The second place: class 4B (Mikołaj, Feliks, Jan, Mateusz)

· The third place: class 3B (Natan, Michał, Jan, Franciszek)

· The fourth place: class 2a (Juliusz W.-Ż., Juliusz W., Jan, Franciszek)

The winners of the tournament received an impressive cup from Vice-Director Elżbieta Tyszko-Kulik and IB Coordinator Tomasz Mazur, which will be displayed in the building of our International Branches at 48 Solec Street until next year’s tournament.

Before Basketmania, there was a school charity lottery, and in breaks between matches, members of the school community took part in another charity event Throw Money In. The goal was to score as many throws as possible in two minutes. Each throw was sponsored by a donor with a minimum amount of PLN 5. In total, as a result of both campaigns, a considerable amount of money was collected, which will be allocated for the annual visit of children from the Children’s Home in Zwierzyniec in 2 SLO. We would like to thank all donors, participants of the campaign, players for their kindness and great time spent in a sports atmosphere.
