At the Green End of the EU

Our little odyssey began on March 3, at the airport in Modlin. After a couple of hours’ flight, we arrived in Dublin, where we checked into a hostel and went on a tour of the city with a guide who told us about the most important events in Irish history. He quoted many anecdotes showing the sarcastic approach of the Irish to their past as well as the difficult relationship with the English. The next two days, in three groups, we went to Trinity College, the Little Museum of Ireland and EPIC the Irish Emigration Museum, where numerous stories about ordinary Irish citizens and their fates reminded us of the history of Polish families. In the evening, we started working on projects, probably the most engaging part of the trip program. Based on conversations with random Dubliners, we collected information on given topics. In our free time, we explored the city and discovered Irish life and customs. We ate meals like the locals do in a local pub, and then in a restaurant, where we had the opportunity to watch a traditional Irish jig dance live. On March 6, we travelled across Ireland to see the Cliffs of Moher and the nearby national park. On the day of departure, we could visit either a selected museum, art gallery or archaeological exhibition.
